Mikki Perry
DIRECTOR OF CONGREGATIONAL CARE
When did you join the staff and what is your position?
I joined WUMC in 1998 with my husband and two children, who were in high school at the time. I started working in the front office in 2003. My position is Director of Congregational Care. Along with the general office duties, you call me to schedule baptism and weddings. I handle membership, transfers and the details for funerals.
What is your favorite thing about working here?
I love the interaction I have with the congregation of all ages.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Columbia, SC. I am number six of ten children. I moved to Wilmington in 1966. I graduated from New Hanover High School in 1971.
Do you have family?
I have been married to Hayes Perry for 48 years. We have two children, a daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, and one granddog.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to work in my yard and take “Field Trips” to the Plant Place. I also will keep my grandchildren any chance I get. I love to read, too.
