When did you join the staff and what is your position?
I officially joined the staff on Monday, March 3, 2025 as your Director of Music Ministries.
What is your favorite thing about working here?
The people! The staff and the congregation are some of the most embracing and loving people I’ve ever come across.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Wytheville, VA. My father was a pastor in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. I have served in the Holston Conference, as well as the North Alabama Conference, and now the North Carolina Conference!
Where did you go to school?
I did my Piano Performance study at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. At Westminster I also had studies in organ, and was in the various choirs offered. I started playing piano at age 4, and throughout my secondary school years, I was fortunate to have some truly great band and chorus teachers who were formative in the development of my love for, and knowledge of music.
Do you have family?
I am one of six children, having three sisters and two brothers (one of which is my twin). I currently have four nieces, five nephews, and one great-nephew. It is a hard job being the favorite uncle!
What do you like to do in your free time?
Free time? What’s that??
I’m a bit of a film and film history buff, as well as history in general. I love to attend concerts of various types, and any live music event for that matter. Photography (especially black and white) is a passion, as well as just getting out and exploring. I do love the culinary arts, and am quite at home in the kitchen!
